Karine & Vincent at Paradise Banquet Hall

Ever wonder what it's like to plan a wedding for a wedding planner? Well I got this opportunity with Karine and Vincent as Karine is a wedding planner herself in Hong Kong. Working with her was absolutely amazing as she understood the ins and out of wedding planning. Everything was communicated very well and not one detail was missed.

Inspired by Disney’s Beauty and the Beast their decor was not only beautiful but magical as well. It was as if we were dining right inside the story book. My favourite part was when the couple paired the iconic song “Be Our Guest” with dinner service. And with the help of some wedding planning fairies they live happily ever after ;)

Lena & Stefan at Grand Victorian

One of the benefits of living and working in a multi-cultural city is being able to witness the many marriage customs. As a planner it gives me the opportunity to experience different wedding traditions from the Chinese tea ceremony to the Korean kunbere ceremony and now to a Hindu ceremony. Like many South Asian weddings, Lena and Stefan's wedding spanned across multiple days.

Their ceremony space was decorated beautifully in red and gold from the drapes to the pillars lining the aisle to the chairs. Most guests attended in colourful Saree's as they took part in the traditional Hindu ceremony. In contrast to the first day, they had a western reception with a floor to ceiling backdrop, a floral wall and a personalize dance floor with their initials. Mixing silver and pink into the room created a more modern feel. They even had a fire show performer that definitely turned up the heat.

Hyal & John at their private home

Hyal and John's intimate wedding on their private property was a perfect example that beautiful things happen unexpectedly. With a full outdoor ceremony and luncheon reception set up the day before, mother nature had other plans for their wedding day. Instead the couple and their guests were greeted by a rainy Saturday afternoon. I absolutely love how the photos turned out both indoors and out and how dreamy the fog made everything. These kind of backdrops don't happen often and are moments like these that make life and love so beautiful.

Welcome Baby Song

There are many milestones in life that are worth celebrating. Whether it be a wedding, a new house, or welcoming a new human into your life. Last August I planned a baby shower along with my good friend, florist and mom-to-be Sarah from Delight Floral Designs. Sarah approached me with an idea of doing a casual backyard theme and we put together this baby shower in less than a month.

Since the shower was in August we decided to do it picnic style by using a wooden skid as the table and giant pillows for guests to get comfy with. The dusty blue denim theme was carried throughout the entire shower from the table linens to the place setting to the almost too pretty to eat desserts. Both Sarah and I love small details and so we made sure there were plenty for her guests to feast on. My favourite detail was the "it's a boy" tag attached to the glass domes followed by the "did you know" blurb which shares a little bit about Sarah and her husband's journey with the little one on the way.

I hope that you guys were able to find some inspiration from this baby shower as it holds many design elements that can be recreated at home. This baby shower is also featured in Mingle's Spring 2018 magazine which is available online or at Chapters.

Cheers!

Cristina & Clarence at Stratus Restaurant

When I first met Cristina I knew there was an instant connection as we both had a love for pretty things. I remember after the initial meeting I knew this wedding was going to be the prettiest. Not only did Cristina know exactly what she wanted, we both had a similar taste in style which made bouncing ideas off each other like second natural.

Cristina and Clarence wanted an intimate wedding with their closest friends and family. The colour scheme they chose was rose gold, navy and blush pink. This romantic combination can be seen throughout the wedding from navy bird cage favours to a blush pink card box. Cristina even handmade all the place cards for each of her guest. All the pretty details came together so beautifully it was definitely a feast for the eyes.

Laura & Jesse at King Valley Golf Course

With Laura and Jesse living in California the majority of this wedding was planning through skype and emails. This was a unique situation as this was the couple's third wedding, and because of this a lot of wedding elements that are usually involved in a wedding was omitted. Instead, the couple opted for a relaxing afternoon filled with photos of family and friends.

They brought their California-vibes to this wedding with lots of bold colours. The pops of maroon and orange against the desert greens and shimmer of gold created a very classy setting for the reception. This theme was carried throughout with a naked 3 tier cake with matching flowers. The cake even had real gold flakes from the hometown in Japan of the mother of the groom. They gave out mini succulent cupcakes and the groom even had a succulent as his boutonniere.
