Style Shoot - Lucky in Red

As we reach the end of Chinese New Year festivities I wanted to share with you guys a lovely new year theme shoot I did with some amazing vendors. For those of you who don't know Chinese New Year celebrations last 15 days of which each day has it's own special meaning and traditions. As a planner with a majority of my couples being of Asian decent I found that many of them are challenged with the task of merging the old with the new. Many follow old wedding traditions to please the families but want to stay modern to all the instagram worthy options they have.

This is where this shoot comes in. Myself and Janet from Janetmaevents collaborated to freshen up Chinese customs. We created a stunning double happiness backdrop for the tea ceremony with hundreds of origami cranes. This is by far my favourite backdrop ever! Red is the symbol of good fortune and joy and therefore was our main colour of the shoot. We had beautiful flower arrangements from the ladies at Peachwood studios and a too pretty to each sweets table display by Flour and flower cake design. Our lion dancers from Wushu Project made sure to fend off any evil spirits so that everyone would have a happy and prosperious year!
